Book Review: Percy and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

I can't believe how hot it is getting here. I feel like I'm going to burst into flame when I step out into the sun. I also have low blood pressure, so summer is a time when I'm really susceptible to fainting if I don't stay hydrated. So I stay inside most of the time. And yesterday, while staying inside, I started and finished The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan. This is the second book in the Percy and the Olympians series. The first book is actually being made into a movie that will release in February 2010. The review is under the cut. There are some spoilers, so ye be warned.
I really enjoy this series. I think part of that comes from being so into Greek mythology though so I can fully appreciate the myths that are used. At the same time, this author adds in surprises and certain mythology I've never heard of. The appearance of Hermes in this book was fun. I always sort of liked Hermes and it's great that Percy as at least one god on his side. I love the story arch that's developing with Luke. I really hope he comes back to the side of the good.
